The team operates under the TB Northern Nexus Cluster, a coalition of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). The visit aimed to garner support for tuberculosis (TB) programs in Benue State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"577\" src=\"https:\/\/owacdo.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/A11.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2084\" srcset=\"https:\/\/owacdo.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/A11.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/owacdo.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/A11-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/owacdo.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/A11-768x433.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>OWACDO Leads Advocacy Visit<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The advocacy team was led by Mrs. Joy Ijuwo, Executive Director of Okaha Women and Children Development Organisation (OWACDO). During the visit, she highlighted the impact of ESLF\u2019s initiatives in governance, economic empowerment, and health. She praised the foundation\u2019s ongoing projects, including efforts to combat TB in Benue State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mrs. Ijuwo commended the provision of motorcycles by ESLF\u2019s founder, Dr. Eunice Ortom, the former First Lady of Benue State. These motorcycles have improved the transportation of drugs and supervision of TB Directly Observed Treatment (DOT) centers across the state. She emphasized the need to reduce TB statistics and complement the work of international partners like Breakthrough Action and KNCV. The team also expressed concern over diminishing foreign funding and the impending conclusion of some TB projects. She reaffirmed ESLF\u2019s commitment to humanitarian causes, including the fight against TB. Dr. Ortom also promised to make the ESLF Hospital available as a service point for the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), ensuring TB patients can access affordable treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the visit, the team presented an Advocacy Brief and TB Fact Sheet to ESLF.
